Transformer repairs and upgrading

1 – Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis, disassembly if necessary and drafting of specifications with:

  • choice of conductors,
  • winding characteristics (number of turns),
  • choice of magnetic circuit used,
  • varnish and finish paint characteristics.

2 – Recovery of reusable materials (magnetic circuit, winding support, etc.)

3 – Replacement of obsolete materials used with standard products, or products conforming to superior insulation ranges or temperature classes, or with products conforming to ULV0 classes, zero halogen, Rohs, H 180 °C class, etc.

4 – Adaptation to standards, or implementation of original or higher IP protection index.

5 – Replacement of trim accessories with identical products: support, binding posts, insulator, etc.

6 – Identical rewinding, with new shop packet created after expert assessment.

7 – Cleaning of terminals and connection points by sand blasting and treatment (tinning, silvering, etc.)

8 – Impregnation or moulding and finishing with anti-flash varnish where necessary

Impregnation service

We use conventional ovens, along with programmable ovens equipped with regulators to monitor the temperature cycle during the drying and curing phases.

Cycles are stored electronically to ensure part traceability.

Drying and curing cycle durations can be varied according to requirements, with potentially very high temperatures (350 °C).

Single or double-dip impregnation, vacuum or high-pressure impregnation, tropicalization.

Varnish viscosity is AFNOR cup verified.

Varnishes used: epoxy, all grades: A,B,C…H, aldehyde, alkyd, polyester, polyurethane, Rhodetfal aeronautical varnish and others.

Moulding

Working from plans, or by measuring a product’s dimensions, we can create casting moulds for parts requiring a greater protection rating, or to ensure enhanced insulation of high-voltage windings.

All of our moulds are designed for in situ filling.

The resins used are selected according to part characteristics: high potential, high-voltage hot spot, earth insulation, but also according to the environments in which they are used: fire-proof and smoke-proof resin for on-board hardware, semi-rigid resin for high-vibration environments, etc.

Resins used: epoxy, all grades: A,B,C…H, silicone, polyurethane, polyester.
